SUMMARY:Horsemanship Through Obstacles - 70 Mile Riding Club
DESCRIPTION:The 70 Mile Riding Arena crew is very excited to announce:\nTrevor Mertes\, of Horses That Work\, and of Extreme Cowboy Challenge fame\, will be coming to the 70 Mile Arena for a 3 day clinic August 7-9\, 2026!\nTrevor brings his calm\, quiet\, and down to earth approach to horsemanship for all ages and all types of horses\, especially young and green horses. His goal is always to do less to get more out of your horse\, always keeping in mind that if you can move the feet you can get to the mind of the horse. “If you want a calm horse\, stay calm. If you want a patient horse\, be patient.”\nYou and your equine partner will work with a variety of obstacles using good horsemanship to get your horse through them. A few of the obstacles that Trevor brings include bridges\, gates\, objects to drag\, teeter totters\, suspension bridges\, carousel with flags\, barrels\, rails\, poles\, jumps and water obstacles. This clinic is a great way to help you and your horse find a better connection together. Come and work on some of the obstacles you may find in the ever growing sport of “cowboy challenge”.\nIt will be a great weekend of playing with obstacles\, making new friends and learning new things!\n$350 + $25 70 Mile Community Club membership\n\n\nRegister:\n\n\nhttps://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLScaYHOm0Zl…/viewform…\n\n\nTo read more about Trevor Mertes and Horses That Work see [www.horsesthatwork.ca](http://www.horsesthatwork.ca/) and Horses That Work on Facebook

SUMMARY:Horsemanship Through Obstacles - Falkland
DESCRIPTION:Horsemanship Through Obstacles in Falkland BC. Trevor Mertes is bring his training methods to Falkland\, BC. Don’t miss out on this special opportunity to improve your courage and bond with your horse. \n\n“Horsemanship Through Obstacles” &\nExtreme Cowboy Clinic!\nFALKLAND\, BC – August 21\,22\,23\n\n\nThis is a family friendly clinic the weekend prior to Salmon Arm fair\, and Armstrong fair and is always one of the best! There’s both levels available for all 3 days. This type of clinic is a great way to improve your horsemanship through obstacles\, in a fun environment!\n\n\nLEVEL 1 – is anyone who hasn’t taken a clinic prior with myself and is a great spot for beginners\, green horses\, new comers to the sport and all levels of riding. We start on the ground with a series of exercises to help build the trust and connection with your horse. We then build that into how we ride to have a clear connection with trust while riding. From there we use the trust and connection that we’ve built to work through new obstacles that relate to all aspects of riding. Whether it be dark corners in an arena\, creek crossings\, new banners being hung at a show\, or in an obstacle sport itself. (Most people choose to stay in level 1 for around 3 clinics because it’s so much fun)\n\n\nLEVEL 2 – This is for people who have participated in at least one level 1 clinic prior. Here we’ll work on piecing together an advanced level of horsemanship through combining a few obstacles\, while working deeper at moving their feet when and where we want to get to their mind and build an ultimate connection. This level is for those wanting to advance themselves in any sport\, as well as those that want to compete\, or already are competing\, in Extreme Cowboy competitions.\n\n\nPrice is $400 per rider.\nOf that $200 is a non refundable deposit if not enough notice is given to fill the spot. The full amount is required 20 days prior and the same rule applies to the above of your place can not be filled.\n\n\nSession 1 runs 1-4 Friday\, & 9am – 12pm the following two days\n\n\nSession 2 runs 5-8 Friday\, and 1 pm – 4pm the following two days\n\n\nPM for any questions\, currently half full at the moment.\n\n\nTotal of 12 riders between the two sessions.\n\n\nOver night pens available at $15 per horse per night.\n\nemail trevor@horsesthatwork.ca \nFor more information contact Trevor at his website\, Horses that Work. \nor at Horses that work on Facebook.
